Roles: Brand strategy & direction, social media marketer, web and graphic designer
HELISET TŦE SḰÁL ‘Let the Languages Live’ was an international Indigenous language conference held on the lək̓ʷəŋən traditional territory in Victoria, BC. The conference was marked to celebrate International Year of Indigenous Languages, which hosted over 1000 language champions and knowledge keepers from 20 different countries.
My role was to help in creating an initial design/brand based of Indigenous artist Charles Elliot's artwork. This then was used throughout the conference in different materials such as banners, signs, backdrops, print materials, and ongoing website and social media posts. I also was head of social media, where I was posting material leading up to the conference, including paid advertising to attract audiences. I also was assigned to post throughout the conference on different platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. This involved having a lot of pre-made and scheduled posts though the program HooteSuite.
